Videograms of a Revolution

An important entry in the found-footage documentary drama, Videograms of a Revolution is a recreation of a real event in which media had an immediate bearing on history: Just before the overthrow of the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaucescu, Romanian protestors occupied a TV station and broadcast continuous calls for revolution. Ceaucescu and his wife were executed by firing squad, and their trial and deaths were broadcast later the same day. Harun Farocki and Andrei Ujica's documentary attempts to reckon with this use of media technology.
