A few steps past the fish-throwing insanity at Pike Place Market, you’re greeted in French in a dim, quiet room, its walls covered in antique mirrors, its view of beautiful Puget Sound. Upstairs is a snug, shiplike garret of a bar, all dark wood; in summertime, Maximilien’s terrace is lovely, too. The menu offers French standards, from escargot and foie gras to cassoulet, and the execution is also often standard—but there’s that view.
