Olafur Arnalds
Recommended
That an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist of such mildly interesting music as Olafur Arnalds can play a venue the size of the Moore Theatre testifies to the hegemony of NPR-approved, middlebrow aesthetics. Mutedly grandiose orchestral pop with tepid electronic touches, effete art song, somberly beautiful piano pieces... everything Arnalds does is well-executed, tasteful, and blander than I can stand. But I seem to be in the minority on this one. DAVE SEGAL
